Tour highlights

  • Halong Bay – Overnight cruise to this World Heritage site with over 3000 limestone islands. All meals included onboard. Opportunities for Kayaking and swimming.
  • Hanoi – Tour of the old quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake by cyclo. Visit the home of Ho Chi Minh, Temple of Literature, Ethnology Museum and see the famous Water Puppets show.
  • Pu Luong – Scenic highland nature reserve.  Walk in the valley surrounded by mountains to the hill tribe villages to see the minority ethnic people. See the giant water wheels and a local agriculture system. Visit a local primary school.
  • Hoi An – Well preserved ancient town. The former port’s history is reflected in its architecture of wooden Chinese shophouses, French colonial buildings and the iconic Japanese Covered Bridge. Full of colourful lanterns by the river at night. Many tailor shops, markets and opportunities to join the cooking school.
  • Hue – Travel to Hue via the Hai Van road pass. In 1774 Hue became the Royal capital of southern Vietnam which was ruled by Emperors of the Nguyen dynasty until 1945.  Visit Imperial Citadel, palaces and royal tombs.

  • Ho Chi Minh City – So many sites to see including a tour of the Reunification Palace, now a museum and once the former Presidential Palace of South Vietnam until April 1975. Visit the War Remnants Museum, Saigon Opera House and Notre Dame Cathedral.
  • Cu Chi tunnels – Visit the tunnels which enabled the Viet Cong to control a large area only 40km from HCMC. The Cu Chi area had over 250km of tunnels, up to several stories deep in many parts.
  • Mekong Delta – We travel by boat on the Mekong Delta and motorbike carts through the jungle paths to visit a family home, making local products and a coconut processing enterprise beside the river.
  • Floating Market, Mekong Delta – By boat, we explore the floating market where the local farmers sell produce from their boats to the local market boats. Each boat usually sells one product (eg pineapple).
  • Angkor Temples, Cambodia – Built by the Khmer Kings between the 9th and13th centuries, the Angkor Temples lay hidden by the jungle for 500 years. Now uncovered, this amazing site is regarded as one of the Wonders of the World. We visit the spectacular temple of Angkor Wat, the jungle temple of Ta Prohm and temple of Angkor Thom.
  • Tonle Sap Great Lake – The most extensive freshwater lake in South–East Asia. By boat, we visit the floating village on the lake complete with its floating school.

Single supplement is $1440 if a single room is required.
